Acts 2:42 – And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

I am a firm believer in the church. With that said, I believe that homes will be a large part of where the church will need to reside In the future — whether in the form of Small Group Fellowships or just an informal gathering of Believers who share a common bond — Jesus, the Word of God and Prayer.

KFIR Fellowship was created to equip these smaller type of groups. If you are interested in participating, you will receive (via email) a reading schedule which consists of reading portions from the Bible (Monday–Friday), keeping us devoted to the Word of God. You will receive a daily email from Dan that will give you the three chapters for the day as well as his brief comments. We read one chapter from three different books. Also, in the Monday-Friday email you will find a Prayer List, which is active; this will be a place where you can list your requests as well as joining your fellow KFIR members in being devoted to praying for the needs you will find there.

Finally, KFIR will send out a weekly YouTube link and PDF PowerPoint that will be posted on this website as well that will be called KFIR Middle East Update. This Middle East Update will give a glimpse of what’s going on in the Middle East through the lenses of Israel. All sources will come from either Israeli friends or news sources from within Israel.

KFIR, in Hebrew, means Young Lions and we are now living in an age where the young lions that follow the Lion of Judah need to ROAR!

Shalom,

  • KFIR is both a reminder and a call to highlight the importance of God’s word in our life. God’s Word has always been the only standard for truth. We live in a world that wants to make everything relative; a place where things that meant something one day mean something different now, and potentially, something different in the future. This is not so with God’s Word. We can depend on Him for forgiveness, love, and consistency - His unchanging TRUTH. KFIR is an encouragement to immerse one’s self in the Word of God on a daily (manageable) basis. To me, KFIR is intended to connect us to Him and His Truth, and hopefully, to encourage us to develop intimacy with the One who uniquely created us to be His imagers. It also is a call to take every sentence of scripture seriously. Our goal is that you really read every line and ask questions of what you may have read once, or hundreds of times. My experience in reading the bible sometimes leads to complacency (for things I’ve heard or read a bunch), or confusion (for things that have been glossed over in my past or may be uncomfortable with from what I’ve traditionally been taught or thought). KFIR is a place to get a few other perspectives on random verses that catch the commentators’ attention. Those comments may not always be profound, but they are impactful for wherever that particular writer may be in life. The bottom line is that I think it’s a great exercise for us to read and question the Bible – we have a trustworthy God that can stand up to the scrutiny of those questions, but it’s important that we treat the Bible for what it is – the Words of our Creator and Redeemer and which He thought all of them necessary to convey to us.
