Remembering Daniela

It was my honor and privilege to have known Daniela Lillie over the past five years or more. She was one of the original members of the KFIR Discipleship Fellowship. Daniela was a devoted Talmidim and was committed daily to the Word and to Prayer. I know that Daniela started her own Kfir Fellowship as well as staying committed to ours. She and her husband, Mark, went on one of our Israel Tours and fell in love with the Land. Once we started our School of Discipleship it became her dream to one day join us in Israel for a prolonged time; not that easy to do with three small boys but this year Mark and Daniela found a way to make it happen.

As I was remembering this Proverbs 31 woman, I came across some of her early correspondence with our group as we were getting to know one another before flying over to Israel. Take a look …

 Favorite food – Indian. But I look forward to halva for BREAKFAST! (you can hear the Hallelujah chorus in the background, I know!)

Life verse: Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

The meaning of this verse will become apparent to all of you when you get to know me. I’m always on the go, a bit of Martha, and I need to stop and listen. To God, mostly.

Something to pray about for me – Clear purpose for my life, my role in the kingdom. I believe it is something to do with Discipleship.

Daniela was truly a lover of God and I always looked forward to her daily comments from her KFIR readings as well as her reflections from the Psalms while we were in Israel earlier this year.

Daniela developed a deep cough during our time in Israel and eventually lost her voice – but that still would not keep her from sharing from the Word whenever our group gathered together.

I am going to miss her even though our relationship was mostly electronic and we were over half a world apart.

We have another School of Discipleship scheduled for Feb 11 – March 2, 2016 and I know that Daniela will be on my mind as we walk the Land and seek to hear the voice of God! I know that in the quiet we will hear the glorious praises from our dear sister who has gone on before us all!

Prayers for Mark and the boys will be a part of our KFIR Prayer list for quite some time. And Daniela, I will be having halva while in Israel every morning and I will remember you!
